6 Nigerian Men Arrested in India Yesterday for Smuggling Heroin

Yesterday, Wednesday 18th June 2014, the Punjab police arrested six Nigerian men in Delhi, India. It is said to be a major breakthrough in Delhi’s drive against drug trafficking.

According to The Hindustan Times, the men whose names include Sydney Obinna, Uzochekwu Clement, Alogsis Ezechinelu, Mike, Victor and Peter, were caught by a joint team of the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) from Mohali and Patiala.

The news outlet reports that the men had been obtaining heroin smuggled from Pakistan, through Punjab and J&K borders.

They pump the heroin into an international network spread in Nigeria, Brazil, Pakistan, South Africa, Canada and the US, as well as some Indian states.

It is being alleged that the men were in contact with Pakistan-based heroin smugglers Abid Ali, Sajabadand Bhola.

A spokesperson reveals that the men will appear before a local court to obtain their police remand for them to be questioned thoroughly, establish linkages, and effect more arrests and seizures.

All six men were residing in a rented apartment in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, where they were arrested.

Boko Haram men attacked a football viewing center in Damaturu, Yobe State during a live football match between Brazil and Mexico in the ongoing world cup in Brazil.

The sect men reportedly hauled explosives at the viewing center, injuring several people. Injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals.

Yobe state Police commissioner told AFP that they have deployed policemen to the scene and will give details on the incident later...

15 Killed in Fresh Kenya Attack

Just yesterday, Somali radical Islamist group al-Shabaab, killed 48 people during an attack on Mpeketoni, a coastal town in Kenya.

And now, they have struck again, killing 15 people in Mpeketoni once more, Reuters reports.

The terrorists reportedly set buildings on fire and also killed patients in hospital beds.

After the initial attack, the militant group stated that it is punishing Kenya for sending troops to Somalia to confront its Islamist fighters.

Hundreds Of Boko Haram Suspects Arrested In Abia

Hundreds of Boko Haram militants have been arrested in Abia state on Monday, June 16, 2014, according to reports by The Cable.
According to the source, the suspects were arrested along Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway by Nigerian troops posted to Abia state.

This arrest comes just a day after the police foiled a plot to bomb a church in Owerri, Imo State and arrested six Islamist extremist while planting the bombs in the church. The suspects were being conveyed in over 30 buses when they were stopped at the road between Aro-Ngwa and Imo Gate along the expressway. Some of the buses conveying more persons were said to have sped off and escaped arrest. The suspects, though described as Boko Haram suspects by state government officials, there is yet no evidence made available to the public to establish a link between them and the insurgents who have been unleashing violence on many northern states since 2009.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith get cozy in Hawaii

Jada, 42, was photographed kissing and holding hands with her 45-year-old husband on the beach in Hawaii. The couple was snapped as they giggled and twirled around on the beach (doesn't everybody?), appearing relaxed during their getaway.

Six people have been killed in violent storms which battered cities in western Germany overnight.

In the worst incident, three died when a tree fell on a garden shed in Duesseldorf where they had sought shelter, emergency services said.

Cyclists were also killed by falling trees in Cologne and Krefeld and a sixth person died while clearing a street in Essen.

The storms ended a heatwave that lasted throughout the Whitsun weekend holiday.
