CRAZY WORLD: 16-year-old boy admits to killing parents for taking away his iPod

16-year-old Vincent Parker from Virgina admitted to a judge, May 27 that he murdered his parents because they kept taking away his iPod. The 10th grader was an honor roll student at Norview High School, but his frustration with his parents refusing to lighten their punishments somehow caused him to flip. Via WKTR The parents were found dead a week before last Christmas. Parker attacked his mother with pepper spray as she came out of an upstairs bathroom, stabbing her in the eye and then beating her in the head with a baseball bat and crowbar until she was dead. He then struck his father with a crowbar and stabbed him multiple times as soon as he walked through the front door. According to WTKR, Parker told the court that he “just got mad and went off” due to built up anger directed mainly towards his father. It’s all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff. Parker first told police that his dad had started the physical confrontation, but soon admitted to murdering his parents. The father also lived long enough to tell the police what happened before dying from head injuries. Tried as an adult, Parker has pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and will be sentenced in September. His grandfather told WKTR that he’s in shock that Vincent, who had a clean criminal record and almost never got in trouble in school, would kill his parents in revenge for such petty forms of discipline. He said, He is a smart young man. He is smart in school. I don’t know what happened. A psychiatric evaluation showed that Vincent was completely sane and possessed high intellectual potential. His defense attorney will ask the court to let him serve at least a portion of his sentence in a juvenile facility as the boy could go to jail for nearly the rest of his life if he is sentenced the maximum punishment for both murders.
